Education as sole means for development

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, May 22, 2019:  Education is the only means to highlight Khundrakpam constituency in the state though the constituency is lag behind in development and others, 21st rank holder in the high school leaving certificate examination, 2019, Moirangthem Lenin Meitei said.

Lenin son of M. Thoiba and Nomita Leima of Lamboikhul Makha Leikai was felicitated in a reception ceremony held today at head office of Peace and Development Co-coordinating Committee located at Yumnam Khunou, Imphal East.

Lenin score a total mark of 546 out of total marks of 600 the examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur. He got letter marks in six subjects namely Manipuri (Meitei Mayek), English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Higher Mathematics. He appeared the examination from Standard Roberth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur.

Lenin wants to be civil servant.

He gave the credit of his success to the teachers of school boarding as he appear the examination from school boarding. Lenin said in the state Khundrakpam constituency is far lag behind as compared to other constituencies and none recognized the constituency. The only means to highlight the constituency in the state can be done only through the medium of education, he added.

He was awarded with mementos and cash award by advisor of PDCC, N. Rajendro alias Boy and another gift was delivered by president of PDCC.

Rajendro said the main reason of the constituency for lagging behind with the remaining constituency is most of the people in the constituency gives priority on various occasion despite of focusing on education sector. Instead of introducing innovative ideas to bring development in education people keep focusing on celebrating various occasion though the festival is not related to the Meitei community, he added.

People usually made complain for renovation of community halls, local clubs and others but people hardly made complain to take necessary steps to promote education as the constituency is far lag behind in education as compare with other constituencies, he said.

Private schools are not far better than government schools. Most the teachers in private schools are not trained teachers but for government school it is mandatory to recruit trained teacher. Many facilities are made available in government school under free and compulsory education in order to promote students in education sector. People find government school inferior as compared with private school due to lack of communication between teachers and parents or guardians. If the miscommunication is fill up no private school could compete government schools, he added.
