Woman found killed at home

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, May 29, 2019:  Mother of renowned fashion designer Robert Naorem was found death at her residence today for which the police suspect the mason working on renovation of a temple of the residence.

The deceased was Naorem (O) Rekha,67 , wife of N. Dijamani of Singjamei Thokchom Leikai, Imphal which falls under the jurisdiction of Singjamei Police station.

According to one of the assistance of Robert who works in his saloon as hair stylist, Ningombam Somananda said as there is a show of Robert at Banglore tomorrow, he himself along with Robert and one of his friend went at Imphal International Airport before 10.30 am as the reporting time.

Somananda works at the saloon of Robert by staying at the residence of Robert. He said 3-4 masons were working to renovate the temple of the house located at top of the house.  Dijamani was also not at home.

Somananda said most of the time Rekha locked the main gate and used to call her to open the gate. When they found the gate opened they rushed inside and found blood stain on the floor near the staircase and body of Rekha was lying.

To investigate the incident Dijamani inform police.

The masons usually came early in the morning and work till late evening but when they reached there were no one except the body shredded with blood, Somananda said.

According to locals it is said that Dijamani and the masons have some word exchange in the morning.

According to police it is said that she was bludgeoned to death by a weapon on the forehead. High ranking police officers including superintendent of police, Imphal West visited the spot for investigation.
