Mukna held
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, June 4, 2019: One day traditional wrestling competition of “Mukna Changdamnaba” was held today a Mapal Kangjeibung (Polo ground), Imphal.
The competition was jointly organised by All Manipur Mukna Association (AMMA) and Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) under the banner “Apunba Manipuri Mukna Sanaroisingi Changdamnaba, 2019”. Secretary games and sports of the student’s body, Thoithoiba Nongthombam told reporters that the event was organised to promote the indigenous games of the state. With the coming of development in the state many indigenous have been ignored, he added.
The event was participated by 50 players which are divided into two groups (Panas). Director, Zenith Academy, Sangaiporou, Soraisam Manaoton; president, DESAM, Salam Akash and working president, AMMA, Arunkumar Thangjam attended the function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
