AR organises students trip to Sarita Boxing Academy

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, June 11, 2019: Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised an educational field trip for the students of CT Higher Secondary School, Mayang Imphal to Sarita Devi Boxing Academy today.

The field trip was organsied by Mayang Imphal Company Operating Base with an aim to promote sports for overall development of the school students.

As part of the field trip, the students were taken to the Sarita Devi Boxing Academy and briefed about the basics of boxing including various rules of the game. The students were also briefed regarding importance of discipline and focus in any sport.

The students were made to witness the practice session of young boxers being trained at the academy for future competitions. The practice session was followed by interaction with young boxers in which young boxers had shared their experiences.  The students were extremely excited and exuberated to meet the young boxing players who will be the future of Indian boxing.

The tour concluded with a tea party for students and teachers of CT Higher Secondary School as well as the coaches of Sarita Devi Boxing Academy. The field trip motivated the young students to choose boxing as a sport and career. The school authorities as well as the students expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for organising the educational trip and requested for such initiatives in future as well.
