Students’ transporters demand clarification over attacks

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, June 12, 2019: All Manipur School Students Transporter Association (AMSSTA) has warned to cease school van service if miscreants failes to clarify over attacks to school van within five days.
A sit-in rally was organised today at Sawombung market in Imphal East.
General secretary of AMSSTA, Jimmy Tongbram who was at the rally said some unknown organizations have been attacking towards school van service without giving a reason. On May 5 one school van was vandalized with gun shot at Lamlai Mayai Leikai, Imphal East and another school van was burnt down on June 10 at Sawombung.
The school van service owners not only bear livelihood of their family but also they are carrying students which are the pillars of the future, he added.
If the school van service starts cease work in followimg the threat given by unknown miscreants, it will hamper the career of the school going students. Since the first incident the association has been demanding to clarify the misunderstanding with any organization. Instead of giving clarification the incident was repeated. The association strongly condemns the frequent attack on school van, he added.
The unknown miscreants must clarify the reason within five days that whether the misunderstanding is with the association or individual. If any organisation fails to claim responsoble of the attacks within the deadline cease work strike of school van service will be launched, he warned.
