Three Dead, Four Injured in road mishap

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, June 24, 2019: At least three persons were killed and four seriously injured when a truck felt into a gorge near Biyang Village located about 4 kms from Keithelmanbi along the NH-57 (Imphal-Jiribam Highway) under New Keithelmanbi Police Station.

As per reports, the incident took place at around 6:30 am on Monday morning when a speedy truck with labourers on board coming from Imphal side towards Kotlen felt into a gorge when the truck tried to overtook another vehicle.
The injured persons were admitted at hospital for treatment. Police has retrieved the three dead bodies and deposited at RIMS morgue for post-mortem.

Out of the three, two dead bodies persons have been identified. They are Laishram Nanao (30), son of Laishram Tomba and Wangkheirakpam Shanta (33), son of (L) Wangkheirakpam Devan of Moidangpok Mayai Leikai, Imphal West.

Police has registered a case.
