Pothashang News Service: Imphal, July 24, 2019: Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA Khumukcham Joykishan has pressed the government to disclose the the post mortem report of Ningthoujam Babysana.
The demand came in the midst while student and Thangmeiband residents are agitating in demand for justice to the death of Babysana, a class VII student.
Babysana was found dead inside her boarding room of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary school on July 18.
The people’s representatives in the government remain busy fighting for ministership despite of trying to do justice to the death of the student.
Talking to reporters at Thangmeiband on Tuesday Joykishin said it has been almost one week government has been failing to take any positive step regarding the incident.
The crime scene was guarded by huge number of police personnel due to the reason people have suspicion of diverting the issue by tampering the evidence under tight security, he claimed.
It has been alleged that the student was found hanging in the boarding room.
Saying that the cause of death of Babysana must not be suicide, the Thangmeiband MLA said any individual who claimed that cause of death as suicide must convince him.
He said the government should not try to suppress a movement by deploying police force. The government does not bother to solve such incidents in the state. People and intellectuals need to discuss regarding the changing scenario of the state, he added.
If the present government fear to announce the post mortem report officially due to some powerful link then government need to handover the case to CBI, Joykishan demanded.
By owning dictator rule voice of some individuals might suppress but not as a whole, he claimed.
Chief minister N. Biren Singh was a courageous politician, he used to raise voice for the welfare of the state while he was in Congress party. He will know why he changeed his way when he is in BJP, he said.
State police is one of the talented police in the entire country but delaying in progress of the case shows that state government has already instructed police personnel to divert the case, the MLA charged. He demanded that the government must clarify immediately.
He said till date no political parties have been raising voice regarding the incident to get justice. He appealed the people and political parties not to take the “mysterious” death of Babysana as a non-issue. Government must solve the issue in no time before the spark turns into fire, Joykishan said.
