Two days conference on DILRMP concluded

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, August 6, 2019: The two days Regional Review Conference on implementation of Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) in North East region concluded today in Imphal. The conference was held at Imphal from 5th to 6th August 2019 and was jointly organized by the Government of Manipur and Department of Land Resources, Government of India.

Speaking at the inaugural of the conference, Revenue Minister Karam Shyam emphasized the importance of proper land records and said that Manipur has adopted National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) software for registration of the sale deed etc. It was launched in July 2018 in one SRO at Bishnupur and will introduce the system other SROs of the hill districts very soon.  Minister also raised state’s grievance over change in pattern of central support under the scheme on reimbursements. There are difficulties in proper land record management in the hill districts due to prevalence of customary rights and unsurvey territory, he added.

Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Government of India, Roulkhumlien Buhril said that matters relating to land are sensitive and keeping land records is important. It is, therefore, government of India is funding 100 per cent on Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme. Good land records management will augment all planning and policy making of the states as well as the Centre and will bring ease in living and business and further help in doubling farmer’s income, he said.

Apart from representatives from Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development, senior officers of the Department and State level senior officers of the North eastern states also attended the conference.
