Manipur CM condoles Arun Jaitley’s demise

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, August 24, 2019:  Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh has expressed profound grief at the demise of former Union minister Arun Jaitley.

In his condolence message, Biren said, “On behalf of the State Government and the people of Manipur, I express my profound grief at the demise of Arun Jaitley ji. Words leave me in this moment of sadness.”

“Today, Mother India has lost a great son. A stalwart of the BJP, Arun Jaitley jidistinguished himself with his administrative acumen in the Governments of Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji and Narendra Modi ji. He was a man respected across party lines. He was one of the greatest orators of our times. He was a brilliant strategist, a distinguished lawyer, an eminent intellectual, an outstanding parliamentarian and a great leader,” he said.

“It will be truly difficult to fill the void left by his absence. The people of Manipur join me in standing with the family of the great leader and his well-wishers in this hour of grief. I pray that God may shower the bereaved family with the strength to withstand the loss”, he added.

Arun Jaitley passed away on Saturday at AIIMS. He was 66.
