Manipur Thang-Ta squad leaves for Korea

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, August 27, 2019: A Thang-Ta Squad of the Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur left Imphal on Tuesday to represent Thang-Ta Federation of India in the “2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Festival” and “5th International Thang-Ta Championship 2019” scheduled to be held at the Chungju City, Republic of Korea from August 30 to September 6. The squad is headed by Huidrom Premkumar Singh, president, World Thang-Ta Federation and Technical chairman, Thang-Ta Federation of India.
The Thang-Ta squad is comprised of Huidrom Premkumar Singh, Okram Netajit Singh, Yumnam Khagemba Singh, Yumnam Rakesh Singh and Huidrom Kirankumar Singh of Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai, Imaphal West, Yumnam Dijen Singh of Sagolband Bijoy Govinda, Imphal West, Shagolshem Shageinganba Meitei of Mayang Imphal Maibam Maning, Thoubal, Nongmaithem Bidyananda Angom of Ngaikhong Khunou, Bishnupur, Ningthoujam Maigei Mangang of Heirok Part-I, Heituppokpi Mamang Leikai, Thoubal, Anand Ningthoujam of Maibam Lotpa Chining Awang Leikai, Bishnupur, Kheljit Saikhom, Leishemba Yengkhomcha, Kshetrimayum Lan Mangang, of Sagolband Sayang Kurao Makhong, Imphal West, and Laishram Paree Khuman Samurou Mayai Leikai, Imphal West
The squad will demonstrate the different art forms of Thang-Ta martial art during the Festival and will also compete in the “5th International Thang-Ta Championship 2019”. Huidrom Premkumar Singh, who led the Squad, will attend the 18th Annual General Meeting of WoMAU (World Martial Arts Union) also on August 29.
