People pay tribute to Haipou Jadonang

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, August 29, 2019: People led by works minister Thongam Biswajit Singh paid tribute to Haipou Jadonang in observance of the 88^th Death Anniversary observation of Haipou Jadonang held at Jadonang Park, Keishampat on Thursday.

Haipou Jadonang still lives among us, because of his sacrifices and contribution to our society. The fact that we remember him and celebrate him shows that he is still among us through his contribution and sacrifices for the society, he added.

The minister assured construction of a hall at the park and said funds for the construction can be from many sources, it can be from the government or from Local Area Development Funds of like-minded MLAs.

He said we should instill Haipou Jadonang’s spirit of patriotism and nationalism in ourselves. Everyone of us have responsibilities towards development of our society and that the government alone cannot bring development, he added.

 Peace alone can bring development, and peace can be achieved by encouraging trust among the people, he said.

 We shouldn’t focus only on problems, but we should focus more in bringing solutions, he added.

MLA Dr. Y. Radheshyam Singh said people should remember Haipou Jadonang for his patriotism, nationalism and sacrifices for his people. “Let this observation instill the spirit of Jadonang in our people and enable us to follow in his footsteps,” he added.
