90 radio sets recovered

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, September 3, 2019: Assam Rifles in two separate operations recovered 90 radio sets from Khudengthabi check post, Manipur on Sunday.

During routine check of vehicles, a team from Assam Rifles intercepted a silver colour Maruti Van travelling from Moreh to Imphal. On carrying out a thorough check of the vehicle, 10 Radio sets of make Baofeng Model No – UV-8D were recovered from the possession of the driver. The apprehendee identified himself as K. Jagdish Singh, son of K. Jugindro Singh, 37, resident of Bramhapur Nahabam Bamom Leikai, Porompat, Imphal East, Manipur,.

In follow up operation, at around, the same team intercepted a White colour Maruti van bearing registration number MN01-G-8735 travelling from Moreh to Imphal. On carrying out a thorough check of the vehicle, 80 more Radio sets of make Baofeng Model No – BF-888S were recovered. The vehicle was being driven by K Nogdamba Meitei, son of K.Binoy Meitei. The other passenger was Mr Mohan Aggarwal son Radha Ballabh, 43, resident of Thangal Bazzar, Imphal West.

All three apprehendees along with the seized items were handed over to appropriate authorities for further investigation, said a press statement released by Assam Rifles on Monday.
