Blast at Khurai

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, September 26, 2019: One bomb suspected to be improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on Wednesday evening at near Khurai Lamlong Bazar, Imphal East.

The bomb was exploded at about 5.50 pm at the gate of the building of Loyalam Microfinance project and Unique daycare centre located at Khurai Chandam Leirak Machin, Lamlong Bazar.

The building was owned by one Nongmaithem Brajamani from Moirangkampu Sajeb, Imphal East. Loyalam Microfinance is owned by one Pukhrambam Tarunkumar from Sagolband, Imphal west and Unique daycare centre is owned by one Nongmaithem Jiten from Moirangkampu Sajeb, Imphal East.

Police said the IED is suspected to be low intensity and the blast took place inside the gate. During the blast a part of the iron gate was damaged but no causality has been reported. Police also reported that the bomb was planted by suspected valley based underground organisation. Police has taken up a case in this connection.
