Ima Keithel vendors caution another Nupi Lal

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, October 24, 2019: Agitating Ima Keithel vendors, declaring its firm stance for Manipur integrity, have cautioned to launch third Nupi Lal if the concluding Naga peace talks results to disintegration of Manipur.
The women vendors gathered and formed human chain at Khwairamband Ima Keitel, here on Thursday, and took out a rally targeting to appraise their stand to the Governor.
Police stopped them near Congress Bhawan and the rally curved back. Later representatives of the women vendors submitted a memorandum to the governor at the behest of the final agreement between the Government of India and the NSCN (I-M).
The memorandum reminded the memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister of India on December 10, 2017 by the people of Manipur. It said, “With the recent development and denying attitude of the Government of India towards the aspirations of the people of Manipur regarding the peace talks between the Government of India and the NSCN (I-M) we would like to express our commitment for defending the Integrity of Manipur in all aspect territorial, legislative, administrative, socio-economic and cultural) at any cost no matter what may come. As a precaution to the Government of India through you, we make one last appeal to please convey all the points in the memorandum again to the Prime Minster and Home minster seriously.”
Khwairamband Nupi Keithel Semgat Sagtpa Lup leader R.K. Radhesana said, “We can no more tolerate the torturing of the people of Manipur. We appreciate the peace talks, but, if the unity and integrity in the state is disturbed we are prepared for third Nupi Lal.”
“We will not stop agitating for the integrity and will sacrifice our lives for it,” she added.
Khwairamband Nupi Keithel Sinfam amadi Saktam Kanba Lup general secretary Th. Rani said, “We welcome conclusion of decades long peace talk. We will ceaselessly stand against the threat to the unity of native communities of the state by the India Government while trying to appease the NSCN (I-M). We are prepared to fight for the cause of integrity. Both the central governments should understand the sentiment of the people when they act.”
Chief minister N. Biren Singh called on Governor Dr.Najma Heptulla and had a discussion on the present law and order situation in the state.
