Yet another bomb hoax in Imphal city

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 10, 2019: A bomb hoax disrupted Imphal city traffic along Kangla road disrupted traffic for about 30 minutes on Sunday morning.

A water bottle flask was found suspicious to be an explosive by some police personnel on at about 11.30 am. It was found on the road median just at the foot of traffic post erected between Johnstone Higher Secondary School and the bus stand near the western Kangla gate.

To prevent any untoward incident the state police block the highway. A team of state bomb diffuse squad rushed to the spot. The flask was pulled out with a rope. But as no explosion occurred, the bomb squad confirmed it as a hoax.

Two such hoax incidents occurred on November 8 evening at Palace compound in Imphal. The bomb hoax incidents came up after the November 5Thangal Bazaar blast that injured five police personnel and a civilian. Another blast that occurred on November 2 at Telepati injured three BSF Jawans.

The government had announced Rs 1 lakh reward to the individual who can give information leading to the arrest of the blasts culprits.
