Minister Nemcha Kipgen inaugurates the Kangpokpi District One Stop Centre

Imphal, November 20, 2019 (DIPR): Social Welfare Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen today inaugurated the SAKHI – One Stop Centre (OSC), Kangpokpi District at the District Headquarters, Kangpokpi. The One Stop Centre was inaugurated under the directives of Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD), Government of India.
Chief Guest of the function Minister Smt Nemcha Kipgen expressed that the newly inaugurated OSC, Kangpokpi will serve as a centre equipped with an integrated range of services including medical, legal, rescue & response services, police services and psychological and social counselling support for the welfare of those women in distress or affected by any forms of violence in private and public places.
Smt. Nemcha draws the attention of all stakeholders and the people of Kangpokpi District to extend maximum cooperation to the newly inaugurated OSC for successfully delivering its tasks timely to the affected women. She also appealed all the people to immediately refer any women victim or in distress to the OSC so as to avail the integrated services given at the centre for their rehabilitation.
As assured earlier, Minister Nemcha informed that so far, One Stop Centre have already inaugurated in all the 15 Districts of Manipur, the remaining one District will be inaugurated at the earliest.
It may be reiterated that Smt. Nemcha Kipgen already assured that “One Stop Centre (OSC) will be a reality in all the Districts during the spot visit in 2017 at Sakhi One Stop Centre, Thoubal, the 1st ever centre in the state, at Thoubal Mini Secretariat complex.
The inauguration programme was followed by interractive session.
The inauguration event was organised by Kangpokpi District Administration. It was attended by Vice Chairman, SH-ADC, Kangpokpi, Shri Thangjakam Misao and Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi, Smt. Lalithambigai K. as Guest of honour and President respectively. It was also attended by SP, Kangpokpi District, Shri Hemant Pandey, District Level Officers, concerned officers and officials of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur and Kangpokpi District Administration.
