IED at Lamlai

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 21, 2019: A bomb of improvised explosive device  (IED) was found at Phouwabi, Lamlai near Flora Children Park in Imphal East on Wednesday.

The bomb was found by 6th Assam Rifles on  at about 9.20 am about 200 metres away from Lamlai Police station towards Sawombung.

State Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team rushed to the spot and they confirmed that the bomb was IED with remote control mechanism.

The IED was disposed safely on the spot at about 12.20pm.

Speaking to media one of the BDS personnel said the IED  was suspected to be high density IED. He said the bomb was fused with two IEDs and it might weigh about 3 kilogram.
