Poppy plantations of 60 acres destroyed

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 22, 2019: Poppy plantations of about 60 acres near T.M. Kasom village (Ukhrul district) and Lungphu village (Kamjong district) and surrounding areas under Litan Police and Phungyar Police were destroyed on Friday.

The destruction was conducted by a joint team of Ukhrul district police, Narcotic Affairs and Borders (NAB) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), 24AR, forest officials,6 Manipur Rifles and SDO T.M. Kasom under the leadership of ASP (LO) Ukhrul, Luther Nangsha and ASP/NAB, Saklemba RK along with OC Litan S. Keishing.

Two FIR cases in this regard have been taken up in respective P.S.

On Wednesday a team of Tengnoupal district police, Narcotic Affairs and Borders (NAB) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) destroyed about 24 acres of illegal poppy plants at Machi hill range and Sijang hill range.
