MANPAC to intensify anti-CAB movements

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, December 8, 2019: Manipur People Against Citizenship  (Amendment) Bill (MANPAC) has resolved to intensify people’s movement against Citizenship  (Amendment) Bill from Sunday.

The resolution was taken in a one-day leaders’ meet held at the office of All Manipur United Clubs Organisation, here.

The meet was moderated my MANPAC convenor Yumnamcha Dilipkumar and participated by representatives of different political parties, civil society organisations and MANPAC reaffirmed to oppose the Bill.

It agreed to urge all the MPs from Manipur to actively oppose the Bill when it is tabled in both the houses of the Parliament and they must not vote in favour of the Bill.

It was also agreed that all the people would submit letters of opposition against CAB to the Governor together with their respective MLAs and local political leaders.

MANPAC in a press statement called upon all sections of people to come to streets and stage protest demonstrations against the bill from Sunday.

It said mass protest agitation would be staged by suspending daily activities from 1 am of December 9 till 3 am of December 11 .

MANPAC appealed people to support the movement.
