Manipur becomes the first state to implement Integrated Health Information Platform in NE

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, December 13, 2019: Manipur has become the first state to have Integration Health Information Platform (IHIP) for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP).

Health and family welfare minister L. Jayantakumar Singh launched the IHIP at the conference hall of the health minister, here.

This is the first for North East India to have IHIP implemented. With this successful launching, sub-centres from Bishnupur district will be reporting to the IHIP.

Minister Jayantakumar said it is a step forward for Universal Health coverage. Every case will no longer be just a number. It will have an identity with real time coordinates. Now, reports will be more accurate and decision making will be easier and faster. The benefit of this platform will reach to every corner specially the remote places, he added.

Manipur becomes the eighth state in India and first in the entire North-eastern region to implement the platform.

The minister said that the platform will now connect all the health establishments in one line.

Principal secretary, health, Vumlunmang Vaulnum said 11 sub-centres of Bishnupur district is having ANMOL tablets. By using these tablets nurses can share health related data and information with doctors and hospitals from the place where they are taking attention of the sick people. Immediate medical relief and treatment will also be made possible through this platform, he added.

Director, health, Dr. K. Rajo Singh said IHIP will enable to prevent fragmentation of Health Data all over the country. It will also integrate the data and its sources from public and private units.
