Myanmar delegates call on CM

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, December 18, 2019: Myanmar delegates, who are here to take part in an international seminar cum workshop called on chief minister N. Biren Singh at his official residence on Wednesday.
The delegates were accompanied by senior faculty members of Manipur University during the meeting.
The international seminar cum workshop is organised on the topic, ‘Building Economic Corridors on the Trilateral Highway’ by Manipur University and Monywa University of Economics, Monywa, Myanmar.
An MoU on ‘Academia Exchange and Joint Research’ will be signed between the two Universities on Thursday.
During the interaction Biren expressed hope that academics of Myanmar and Manipur would evolve policy designs and frameworks for development and co-operation between India and Myanmar in sectors like education, human resource development and border trade in the light of India’s Act East Policy.
In the new world, governments must depend on academic inputs for any policy to be successful and fruitful, the chief minister said. He said he would pursue the recommendations of joint research programmes of the two universities that will help further trade and development co-operation between North East India and Myamnar.
