Thangal celebrates New Year

Pothashang News Service: Kangpokpi, January 4, 2020: The Thangal community celebrated its New Year festival Ng-Ngee (Angee) Pheo Tangnit on Saturday at Tumnoupokpi village, Kangpokpi district.

The New Year festival was held under the theme “Retrospection Towards Culture”.

Social welfare and cooperation minister Nemcha Kipgen said all round development in any field can be achieved only when people resides in peace and harmony irrespective of caste, creed, religion and culture. She also stated that one should work not just for the welfare and development for today’s generation but for the future generation too.

Chairman, SH-ADC, Kangpokpi, Haokholal Hagshing, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Cote d’ Ivoire, Guinea and Liberia, Y.K. Sailas Thangal and president, Thangal Union, Y.K. Kaping were present in the celebration.
