Drugs worth Rs 90 lakh recovered

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 9, 2020: Troops of Assam Rifles under the HQ IGAR (South) recovered contraband drugs worth Rs 90 Lakh from  Khudengthabi check post in Tengnoupal district, Manipur on January 6.

The troops at the check post stopped a suspicious Silver coloured Van bearing registration number  MN 04 P 0711, driven by Md Rajauddin, 46, along with three passengers. Md Aslam, 18, Md Mustakim, 23, and Tongkhojang Baite, 36.

During checking of the vehicle, approximately  4,000 suspected WY tablets and 33  plastic packets of suspected Brown Sugar weighing around 390 grams worth Rs 90 lakhs in the International market  were recovered, Assam Rifles said in a statement released on Wednesday .

The recovered contraband items and the apprehended individuals have been handed over to Moreh Police station for further investigation.
