Cyclist messengers for plastc-free pass Manipur


Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 9, 2020: A trio who started a cycle expedition from November 6 last year from Nainital, Uttarakhand, on the theme ‘Save Earth Free from Pollution’ arrived in Imphal city on Saturday and left for Nagaland, the next destination, on Sunday morning from Kangla gate.

They reached Manipur after crossing Assam.

The trio were Sagar Dewrari, Rishabh Joshi and Pankaj Bisht from RS Group Nainital. They were welcomed by prominent cyclists of Imphal as they reach the city.

“Our message is to stop the use of plastic and make surroundings plastic-free and giving awareness about the effect causes by plastic to the environment,” said Sagar Dewrari who led the team.

He said the expedition is also target to create a record in India and Asia for longest cycling (15,000of km) by covering all states and two union territories.

They have so far travelled 22 states in 85 days.

The trio also was previously on a cycle expedition from Nainital to Leh Ladakh on the theme “Women Empowerment” in 2018, covering 2,500 kilometres.
