Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 13, 2020: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh launched Inner Line Permit (ILP) portal www.manipurilponline.com at a function held at his secretariat on Thursday.
The portal was launched with an objective to improve the efficiency and maintenance of records with proper database of the number of non-Manipur native entering Manipur.
Biren said after the implementation of ILP system in the state, the government decided to launch the web portal for issuing of ILP where the records of the applicants can be maintained including the details of the permits issued. The new system would overcome the problems and difficulties faced by the concerned authorities and officials while issuing permits manually at various entry points or gates, he added.
“Now, applicants can apply the ILP online by making necessary payment online and pre-print their permits before reaching the state,” the chief minister said.
For the initial period, the online portal will be made available at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport with 6 systems. By March 1 it will be expanded throughout the state, he added.

Till January 31 a total of 33,995 inner line permits were issued under different categories such as temporary, regular, special and labour permits and raised revenue of around Rs. 1 crore, Biren said.
Facilitation centres would also be opened at all the Manipur Bhawans located in different states of the country. The state government is actively considering to give some relaxation of the Manipur Diasporas for entering into the state under ILP system, he added.
A mobile application will also be made available shortly to enable applications through mobile phones. The web portal is developed under the IT department, Manipur.
