Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 19, 2020: The class XI examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) has been postponed due to leakage of question papers.
“Persons who are responsible in the act will be taken stern action,” said chairman of COHSEM, L Mahendra Singh during a press conference held at its Bapupara office here on Wednesday.
He said the sets of question papers of the exam were handed to the school principals in advance. Council got a report of leakage of question papers of most of the major subjects which is to be conducted through social media, he said.
The class XI examination began on Monday at their respective schools. It was scheduled to conclude on March 26.
The principal and authority concern of the respective schools have to submit the sets of questions where examinations are yet to be conducted, by February 24. The school who failed to submit the set of questions without tampering the sets within the deadline will be taken responsibility of question leakage, the chairman cautioned.
If the responsible authority of the school is hapened to be a government servant immediate termination order will be issued against the culprit. And if the responsible person happens to be from private school, its affiliation from the council will be rejected immediately, he added.
The remaining subjects of the examination will be rescheduled after setting new question papers. The examination may resume after April, he said.
