National integration tour flagged in

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 24, 2020: A 14 days long National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Keithelmanbi Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) under “OP SADBHAVANA” was flagged in by Major General KP Singh, AVSM, YSM, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) at Mantripukhri on Monday.
The tour which comprised of 21 women alongwith two caretakers from across Manipur was flagged off from Keithelmanbi on February 6.
During the course of 14 days, the NIT team visited various places of National, Historical and Tourist attractions at Agra, Mathura and Jaipur. The team visited the Dwarkadheesh Temple, Shri Krishna Balram Temple, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Gokul, Nahargarh Fort, Ajmer Palace, Jal Mahal and Mehtab Garden in addition to various shopping places. The women were visibly excited and happy to have been part of the tour.
Major General K P Singh, AVSM, YSM Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) congratulated the womenfolk on the successful completion of the tour. The tour helped the women to gain first-hand experience and knowledge about various places and historical architecture of our diverse nation and provided them an opportunity to interact with the people outside the state of Manipur. The tour achieved the aim of showcasing country’s rich heritage to the local women across Manipur. The women expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles for having provided them the opportunity of touring the country thereby creating memories of a lifetime, said a statement released by Assam Rifles.
