12 matric exam candidates expelled


Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 27: Twelve candidates were expelled on Thursday, the fourth day of Manipur High School Leaving Certificate examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Manipur.

Three were expelled for impersonation while nine were expelled for copying.

The three candidates expelled for impersonation belonged to New Light Public School, Moijing, Aimol Chingnunghut High School, Chandel and Thiwa High School, Kachai. Their exam centres were STNBA High School, Yairipok, Ideal High School, Pallel and Purul Higher Secondary School, Purul respectively.

For copying, three candidates of Elang-Keina High School, Elangkhangpokpi and one of Iramdam Maheikon, Langmeidong were expelled from exam centre at Langmeidong Aided High School; one each of H. Keinahal Memorial High School and Eureka Academy, Thounaojam were expelled from Langmeidong Higher Secondary School, Langmeidong; and one candidate of Abdul Ali High Madrassa, Lilong and two candidates of Lilong Higher Secondary Madrassa, Lilong were expelked from Islamic Baby School, Lilong.

Nine candidates were expelled on the third day of the examination. Twenty candidates were expelled on the second day of the examination and eight were expelled on the first day.

FIR will be initiated against those candidates expelled for impersonation, said state board secretary Dr. Chithung Mary Thomas.

The HSLC examination was commenced on February 17 and will conclude on March 5.
Altogether 38664 candidates were registered for the examination.
