Drug peddler nabbed with gun amid lockdown


Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 28, 2020: While Manipur is struggling with lockdown to prevent widespread of Covid-19 in the state, Thoubal  Police, Manipur nabbed a drug peddler possessing Heroin number 4 and a gun from Thoubal on Friday.

The peddler was arrested during frisking and checking conducted by a team of Thoubal Police commandos at Thoubal Bazar in front of UBI Bank in the evening.

He was identified as Shagolsem Shanti Singh, 51, son of late Sh. Rajamani Singh of Nepra Company.

From his posssession the police team recovered 15 grams of suspected Heroin No. 4, an i10 car bearing No. MN O1S – 6959, three live rounds of 9 mm ammunition, one double barrel gun with its three live rounds, one fired out round of double barrel cartridge and a small chest arm holster.
