House gutted at Utlou


Pothashang News Service: Bishnupur, April 3, 2020: A house was gutted in fire at Utlou Mayai Leikai under Nambol Police Station in Bishnupur district on Friday evening.

The house belongs to one Loitongbam Dhanachandra, 70, son of late Loitongbam Biren and had 10 rooms with roof covered with GCI and the radius of the property is 160×50 ft.

It was suspected that the house might have caught on fire from the incense sticks use in offering prayer.

Upon receiving the news of the house being caught on fire, fire services from Imphal and Bishnupur and Bishnupur Police led by superintendent of police Priyadarshini Laishram immediately rushed at the spot and were somewhat able to put out the fire.

Priyadarshini extended a sum of Rs 5000 as monetary assistance to the family members of the house.
