Police apprehend oil black marketers during lockdown

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 11, 2020: Amid Covid-19 lockdown Bishnupur Police apprehended nine persons and seized an oil tanker truck for unloading and selling of petrol from the tanker truck at Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai.

The unloading and selling of petrol was detected when a team of Bishnupur district police along with a team of Wangoi Police station raided at the premises of one James Kangujam, son of K. Bijoy Singh of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai on Friday at 11 pm.

The police team rounded up the persons who possessed barrels, jerrycans etc used in unloading the oil.

The seized oil tanker Tata Truck bearing registration  MN05C/0364 and the apprehended persons were taken to Wangoi Police station for further necessary action.

The apprehended persons were Konjengbam Bidyasagar, 24, resident of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai, Khomdram Chandramani Singh, 21, of Nambol Khabi Awang Leikai, Irom Birjit Singh, 21, of Nambol Khabi Awang Leikai, Leimapokpam Somananda Singh, 36, of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai, Leimapokpam Ajit Singh, 32, of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai, L. Bogekumar, 45, of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai, Kangujam Ranjitkumar Singh, 30, of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai, Leimapokpam Koireng, 35, of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai and Kangujam James Singh, 27, K. Bijoy Singh of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai.
