Assam Rifles organises sanitisation drive in wake of Covid-19

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 22, 2020; Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR  (South)  organised a sanitisation drive at Nagaram village, Chingmeirong in Imphal West on Wednesday.

In a wake of lockdown due to the outbreak of Covid-19 and to assist the local population, the battalion organised a sanitization drive at Nagaram village. As part of the drive, a civil assistance team of the battalion carried out spraying of chemicals / disinfectants and decontaminated the community hall and Market area of Nagaram village.

Locals of the area were also educated regarding various precautionary measures like regular hand washing, maintaining basic hygiene and sanitation, maintaining social distance and other precautions to be taken to prevent spread of Covid-19.

Troops of Assam Rifles are continuously contributing in the fight against the pandemic Covid-19 by conduct of such activities and spreading awareness amongst the local population.
