Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 24, 2020: Manipur Police has seized 880 boxes of Myanmar made Win King Size cigarettes from a couple amid Covid-19 lockdown while the Indo-Myanmar border has been seized in wake of the pandemic.
The cigarettes were seized different locations in Inganglok, Heirok Part III which falls under the jurisdiction of Thoubal police station.
Two couple has been identified Tholung Regwar lamkang , 35, resident of Thamla Khuren village and his wife Lisham Naobi Devi, 39.
A team of police commando at around 7.30 of Thursday detected 10 boxes of the cigarette containing 100 packets from the possession of Regwar during police patrol.
A team of Heirok police station rushed to Inganglok, Heirok Part III area at about 9.30 of the same day and Naobi was apprehended under suspicion. The police team seized 78 boxes of the cigarette of the same brand, that contains 780 packets, from her possession.
The couple along with the cigarettes have been handed over to Heirok police station for further necessary legal action.
