45,000 packets of ‘Win’ cigarettes seized


Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 25, 2020: Myanmar made Win cigarettes of  45,000 packets were seized by Pallel Police from the possesion of a resident of Hayellabung on Saturday.

The cigarette trader identified as Jingish Khan, 32, son of Md Manor Ali was apprehended in the early morning. The arrested person along with the seized cigarettes have been handed over to custom office, Pallel for further necessary legal action.

He was arrested for breaking the guidelines implemented by government during lockdown. Indo-Myanmar border has been shield in wake of Covid-19 outbreak.

A couple was also arrested on Friday in possession of 880 packets of ‘Win’.

Police also arrested a person identified as Siansuanlian Zou alias Lianpu son of Sugnu Zou Veng along with 37.2 grams of Heroin number 4.  The person was arrested by a team of district commando, Kaching at about 7 am from Sugnu Napat Thongkhong.

The person along with the seizure has been handed over concern police station for necessary legal action.
