Humanism Foundation conducts awareness cum free mask distribution at Sugnu

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 26, 2020: Humanism Foundation has conducted a mass awareness cum free distribution of homemade mask on Sunday at Sugnu Municipal area.

A team of Humanism Foundation’s volunteers under the leadership of Wahengbam Rorrkychand Singh, Managing Trustee of the organisation conducted the distribution of mask and awareness on Covid-19 at Sugnu Keithel.

In the awareness program which was attended by chairperson, councilors of Sugnu Municipal Council, members of Sugnu Area COVID- 19 Committee and chiefs from more than 50 villages of Sugnu area and Indo-Myanmar border, Rorrkychand highlighted about the present situation of Covid-19 outbreak and preventive measures from the infection of the virus.

He also encouraged all the village chiefs, local representatives and councilors of Sugnu Municipal Council to use protectives like mask, hand gloves and need for handwash and social distancing at this time of crisis due to the pandemic.

As part of the distribution of free face mask, the team of Humanism Foundation has also presented face mask to the personnel of Sugnu police and Manipur Police Commando post.

Humanism Foundation would also like to thank the state government under the leadership of chief minister N Biren Singh and Covid-19 frontline workers for their efforts to contain the virus in Manipur.

While joining the worldwide combat against the Coronavirus, Humanism Foundation also launched a free ambulance service for general patients of rural areas under Bishnupur district and conducting mass sensitization program on the desease along with the free distribution of face mask made by trainees of Humanism Foundation since March 29.
