Manipur Police collects Rs 1,25,640 as fines

Imphal: A sum of Rs 1,25,640 has been collected as fines on Tuesday in continuation of police crack down on violators of Covid-19 lockdown and curfew including not wearing face mask in public and not maintaining social distancing norms.

During police drive on  Tuesday 976 violators were detained along with 866 vehicles. The state police department warns that those who
violates the lockdown/curfew shall be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005, ADGP L. Kailun said.

In Thoubal district 263 violators 234 vehicles were detained; in Bishnupur 200 violators and 122 were destined; and in Imphal West 161 violators and 119 vehicles were detained among others
