IPR director appeals all to help each other during Covid-19 lockdown

Imphal: Helping each other during period of pandemic or during any crisis situation is an important act of humanity, information and  public relations director H. Balkrisna Singh, during the distribution of Covid-19 lockdown relief materials to the villagers of S. Molnom village, Kangpokpi district on Friday.

Balkrisna said as a citizen of this country and the state, one should not wait for the support of the government. “We must rise to the occasion to help each other in the hour of need unconditionally and unilaterally,” he added.

The distribution of relief materials was organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Manipur in collaboration with Saheed Madhumangol Foundation, Imphal.

Relief materials comprising of sugar, potatoes, onions, pulses etc. were handed over to the village chief.

An awareness programme was also conducted on measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to ensure safety. Dr N. Hemanta Singh, specialist, neuro-medicine and Dr S. Joybi spoke as resource persons.

Haokhotinlen Vaiphei, village chief and chairman of the village authority expressed his gratitude on the act of solidarity shown during the time of suffering. As a gesture of gratitude, the village authority also handed over vegetables grown at the village to the team.
