Work programme will focus on priority basis: Biswajit

Imphal: For the current year the focus for PWD work programme will be on unavoidable work and on priority basis,  Manipur works minister Thongam Biswajit Singh said at the Programme Advisory Committee 2020-21 meeting held at the his new secretariat office conference hall.

The department will focus on clearing past liabilities and as such there will be lesser work programmes this year, the minister said.

In the meeting chaired by the minister members of the committee MLAs L. Radhakishore Singh, L. Rameshore Meitei, Md. Ashab Uddin, Md. Fajur Rahim, N. Indrajit, Y.Surchandra Singh were attended.

Commissioner (works) RK.Dinesh and officials of finance and planning slso attended the meeting.

The minister expressed the need to procure drones and conduct aerial monitoring of work-sites as the department is facing shortage of man-power. 

He instructed department officials including chief engineer Kh.Temba and chief engineer (buildings) N.Noren to procure two hot mix plants for Ukhrul and Tamenglong districts.
