9500 Win packets seized amid Covid-19 lockdown

Imphal: A team Heirok Police, Manipur on Sunday morning seized 9500 packets of Myanmar-made Win cigarette at  Heirok part-II Bazar area.

The cigarettes were seized from two persons identified as Ningthoujam Anand Singh, 25, son of N. Itobi Singh and Mahesh Laishram 21, son of Manglem Laishram, residents of Heirok part-II.

Based on a ‘reliable’ information regarding the trafficking of foreign banned cigarette at Heirok part-II Bazar area,  the police team under the command of inspector Premjit Singh rushed to the area and apprehended the persons and seized the cigarettes.

The apprehended individuals along seized items were handed over to superintendent of Custom Preventive Force, Pallel.
