Imphal: Shramik Special Train from Punjab with 932 passengers is expected to arrive at Jiribam Railway Station on Friday.
The train may arrive at around 1.30 pm.
After performing medical screening and other formalities, 74 buses which are being stationed at Jiri Tipaimukh road, in front of Jiribam Higher Secondary School by the transport department, will do the task of transportation of the returnees to quarantine centers of their respective districts.
In connection with this, deputy commissioner of Jiribam district, W. Malemnganba Chenglei, chaired a meeting today at 11.30 am at his office chamber and discussed minutely the monitoring and arrangement of the passengers after arrival of the train.
Malemnganba appealed to the coming passengers for maintaining social distancing, wearing of masks, following the WHO guidelines, to use the hand gloves and also for using dustbins. He also thanked the different civil society organisations and representatives of departments and corporations for extending full support to district administration in handling of the passengers coming from Chennai on Wednesday when the train arrived at Jiribam Railway station and transporting them safely to their respective district quarantine centres.
Under Jiribam district administration, state police force, CMO, transport department, Jiribam Municipal Council, PWD, PHED, electricity department and district heads are strictly discharging their service.
Jiribam superintendent of police M.Mubi Singh and other stakeholders attended the meeting.
The Shramik Special Train departed from Sirhind on Wednesday.
