Manipuri celebrities on COVID-19 part – 1

Imphal: Everyone is confined in their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and could not go out for work. The Manipuri film industry is also on standstill with no more film shootings. With no shooting at all, Manipuri celebrities are also confining in their homes.

During this time, Pothashang team met some celebrities of Manipuri film industry and interacted with them about their life during lockdown.

Actor Soma Laishram feels that one should take advantage of lockdown period by pursuing one’s hobby and helping younger ones in their online classes instead of sitting idle or feeling bore of locking inside our homes. She also feels happy for the environment as it is heeling now with less pollution during this period.

She also thanked government on its effort in controlling the spread of COVID-19 in Manipur and specially the front line workers like doctors, nurses and other paramedic staffs, police.

She said she is enjoying this period as she get more time to spent with her mother and family and helps her in cooking.

Actor Gokul said that one should feel that they are also a COVID-19 volunteer and follow norms set by government. He also feels that Manipuris coming back from other states should also strictly adhere to government norms.

Rajkumar Kaiku said, “We should follow government’s order of lockdown and every individual have roles to play in the fight against COVID-19. The lockdown is hard but it is providing an opportunity to spend more time with our family.”
