Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh appeals to maintain all norms of social distancing in order to protect from COVID-19 pandemic while observing Eid ul-Fitr as he greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion on Sunday.
“On the joyous occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, I convey my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur,” Biren said in his message.
“Eid ul-Fitr falls on the first day of the Ismalic month of Shawwal and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a month of fasting, spiritual renewal and recommitment to the values of gratitude, charity and compassion. It reminds us that humanity can be improved by being sensitive to other’s sentiments, while being honest to ourselves. I extend my best wishes to all on this year’s Eid,” he added.
“While celebrating festivals like Id-ul-Fitr, let us strengthen the feeling of oneness and any ill-will which may be there, should be either forgotten or forgiven. As beneficiaries of the showers of the love of God, let us all resolve to work together to preserve and propagate the message of peace, friendship and love,” Governor Najma Heptulla said in her message.
Works Minister Th. Biswajit Singh in greetings said, “Let this Eid also inspire the people in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Let us once again pledge to follow and take the necessary precautions.”
