Plea for PWD friendly quarantine centres


Imphal: State Platform of Disabled People’s Organisations (SPDPO) has urged the state government to take necessary measures for people with disabilities (PWDs) under Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016 at quarantine centres.

SPDPO president Md. Yunus said that Social Welfare Minister should give an appointment at the earliest to discuss the issue of PWDs as some of them might be included among the stranded Manipuris who are still returning since the past few days.

He appealed the concerned department to avail the facility for stranded PWD people at every quarantine centres. He also appealed not to obstruct PWDs in movement during lockdown as per order issued from concern ministry.
