Pune returnees leave Jiribam for quarantine centres


Imphal: After 1607 Chennai returnees left Jiribam on Sunday morning, another 973 persons who came back from Pune were also sent to their respective district quarantine centres. As many as 973 including 20 children arrived at Jiribam Railway Station at around 10.50 on Sunday morning by Shramik Special Train from Pune. The train departed from Pune on 20th May.

They were served food by Jiribam district administration before deboarding the train. They maintained social distancing norms and used gloves and masks, underwent thermal screening and other mandatory procedures.

District wise numbers of returnees are Ukhrul district – 117 , CCpur & Pherzawl districts – 157, Chandel and Tengnoupal districts – 34, Imphal East and Kamjong districts – 125, Kangpokpi district – 99, Senapati & Noney districts – 121, Kakching – 38, Tamenglong – 55, Bishnupur – 70, Thoubal – 48 and Imphal West district – 109.
