The New York Times dedicate front page to corona victims


Imphal: The New York Times dedicated its entire front page of Sunday, May 24, 2020 edition with 1000 names and briefs of persons died due to COVID-19. The headlines read “”U.S. Deaths Near 100,000, an Incalculable Loss,” with a sub headline “They Were Not Simply Names on a List. They Were Us.”

The six column front page was filled with names and obituaries of corona victims from around the country. There were no photographs, graphics or articles except for the long lists of 1000 names of corona victims and their brief descriptions.

US have reported 98,833 deaths due to corona virus outbreak till 17:19 GMT, May 24, 2020. Globally more than 3 lakh people have lost their lives due to corona.
