3 more tested positive of COVID-19 in Manipur


Imphal: The number of COVID-19 active cases has increased to 35 with three more persons tested positive of the disease on Monday night.

The three new COVID-19 positive cases were all male adults from Imphal West. Their samples were collected on May 20 and tested at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.

“The total numbers of positive and active cases have increased to 39 and 35 respectively,” Manipur COVID-19 Control Room said on Tuesday.

Churachandpur district has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state with 17 cases, followed by Imphal West and Thoubal districts with five and four cases respectively.

Imphal East and Kamjong districts also recorded three positive cases respectively while Tengnoupal district has recorded two positives cases of the disease. Bishnupur, Jiribam, Noney, Senapati and Kangpokpi districts have so far recorded only one positive case respectively.

Out of five positive cases from Imphal West district two have recovered while all the positive cases from Tengnoupal district have also recovered.

There has been no report of community transmission in the state so far.
