Home Guard Association donates Rs 1 lakh more to CM COVID-19 Relief Fund


Imphal: The Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association on Thursday donated a sum of Rs 1 lakh to CM COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The association had earlier donated Rs 2 lakh to the CM COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The amount was  handed over to Chief Minister N. Biren Singh by Y. Mangi, president of Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association.

Battalion commanders of Home Guards Md. Rashimuddin, Md. Abdulhai, Md. Yakup Ali and others were present during the solemn function.

Manipur Association Canada also contributed Rs 65 thousand to the relief fund on the same day.

Biren, on his Facebook posts, said he was grateful to the associations, adding, “Their generosity will contribute a lot in containing the COVID-19 pandemic in the state”.
