Covid-19 positive cases reach 71, four turn negative

Imphal: Five new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Manipur while four female patients became negative, Manipur Covid-19 Control Room said on Sunday.

Of the five new positive cases three were males and two were females. Three of them are from Ukhrul district and two are from Imphal East and Noney districts. They were tested at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.

The four recovered female patients were discharged from RIMS  (2) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal. They were found negative in two consecutive tests. Two of them are from Thoubal district and the remaining are from Churachandpur and Kamjong districts. They will continue home quarantine for the next 14 days and they will remain under surveillance, state Covid-19 control room said.

The conditions of the new positive cases are stable and they will be shifted to the Covid Care Facility at RIMS. All necessary control measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.

The total number of recovered, active and total cases has increased to 11, 60 and 71 respectively, the control room informed.
