Baby boy, mother, aunt turn negative for Covid-19, discharged from hospital

 

Imphal: A 35 days old baby boy along with his mother, 21, and aunt, 19, were discharged from Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal on Tuesday after confirming negative for Covid-19 on two consecutive RT PCR tests.

They will continue home quarantine for the next 14 days. This will remain a landmark achievement for the state, Manipur Covid-19 Control Room said.

A female, 36, was diagnosed positive for Covid-19 positive at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal. She is from Imphal East and a returnee from Delhi.

Another three females of the ages 18, 21 and 22 yeras from lmphal East district were found positive for the desease at JNIMS. The first is a returnee from Pune and the remaining two are returnees from Delhi, it added.

On Monday night two persons–a female, 50, years and a male, 26, were confirmed positive of Covid-19 positive at RIMS. The female belongs to Imphal West and is a Mumbai returnee and the male is from Thoubal district and is a Delhi returnee, it said.

All will be shifted to the Covid Care Facilities at RIMS and JNIMS. Measures like containment and contact tracing necessary for prevention of local spread are in place, it added.

The total number of recovered cases has increased to 14. The cumulative number of positive cases has increased to 89 and the number of active cases to 75. The recovery rate is 16 per cent, the control room said.
