COVID-19 cases rise to 121 in Manipur

Imphal: With 13 more confirmed positive of COVID-19 total cumulative positive cases have reached 121.

Manipur COVID-19 Control Room on Thursday morning said 13 persons (7M, 6F) were confirmed positive for COVID-19 positive at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal.

They belong to Bishnupur (IM), Chandel (IM), Churachandpur (IM and IF), Kangpokpi (1M, 4F including one 3 yrs old girl), Tamenglong (1F) and Tengnoupal (3M) Districts. Those firom Bishnupur and Kangpokpi are returnees from Mumbai. The persons from Chandel and Tamenglong are returnees from Delhi. The persons from Tengnoupal are Pune returnees. One of the positive person from Churachandpur is a Chennai returnee while other one is a nurse with no travel history,  it added.

They are being shifted to the COVID Care Facility at JNIMS. Their conditions are stable. All necessary precautionary measures such as containment and
contact tracing are now in place, the control room said.

The total number of positive cases has increased to 121 and the number of active cases to 83, it added.
